Real streetwear and sneakers: how to be sure

With streetwear and sneakers it is hard to tell what is real, especially online. A photo says little and a good description costs nothing. This page explains what you can look for and what we do.

What you can look for

  • Who is selling it? A store with an address, a phone number and customer service is easier to hold to account than an anonymous seller.
  • Can you see it yourself? With a physical store you can pick an item up and try it on before you buy.
  • Does it match the product page? Name, colour and brand should match what you receive.
  • What happens if it is not right? A clear returns policy belongs with it.

Single details such as a label or stitching say little if you do not have the real item next to it. That is why we rely on checking before shipping, not on explaining afterwards.

Questions you can always ask

Ask a seller who checks the item and when that happens. Ask how to get in touch if something is not right, and whether you can return within a fixed period. A seller who has no clear answer to these is also telling you something.

How KLAIM Amsterdam works
